The bird and marsupial nesting box is designed as a piece of garden furniture. It is made from recycled hardwood pallets and other recycled timbers as I can source them. The timber sections will often show a natural cupping and contain splits and holes etc from its previous life. This gives the box it's own individual character. Every box is different!
The box comes with a timber bracket (indicated) that can be fixed to a wall, post or tree. The bracket is screwed to the substrate and the box is positioned into the bracket and fixed in place with the bright blue pin. It also has climbing grooves both internally and externally, a removable lid for maintenance, drainage holes and thick timber sections for good insulation.
Dependent on the locality, the box will attract Australian native birds such as small Lorrikeet species (Little, Musk, Purple Crowned), Red Rumped Parrot, Owlet Nightjar and Striated Paradalote. It will also attract marsupials such as Antechinus species , Sugar Gliders and the Brushtailed Phascogale.
Internal dimensions are 430 x 100 x 100mm with a 30mm diameter opening. Please refer to the information sheet for positioning, fixing requirements and maintenance.
