tiny - desk sculptures 2021 (AUD)$325 (each)
recycled hardwood, acrylic paint, metal oxide
When one of my daughters moved out of home, she took with her a tiny sculpture of mine that she had always liked . It follows her around when she moves and most times ends up sitting on her desk.
She said, "Dad, why don't you make more of these little guys? All my friends really like them."
These "little guys" are abstractions of natural forms generally found in the local region including anemones, sea squirts (tunicates) and nudibranchs. Others draw on forms of nature such as plant fruits, seed pods and fungi looking at the relationship between an essentially spherical form and an appendage to it - a relationship often seen in nature.
Please note that although I'll be replicating these, they will still be all uniquely different ie not one will be exactly the same as the other.
